After setting out the preeminence of the author of their faith, the writer of Hebrews spends considerable time distinguishing Jesus Christ from angels. This was likely to address a possible heresy not unlike that of the theology of the Jehovah’s Witnesses which diminishes Christ to the level of a created being.

A Promise Is A Promise
How could God keep His promise to Abraham that He would bless all the earth through his offspring? Of course God is reliable but it would seem that Abraham’s offspring would also have to be reliable for God’s promise to be fulfilled and we know humanity is far from reliable. The answer is found in God’s gracious maintenance of a “remnant”.
